What To Look At When Trying To Improve A Page's Ranking For A Specific Keyword?

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding clients who are looking to improve their ranking positions for specific keywords. Instead of focusing on a holistic SEO strategy, they are solely concerned with moving up in the rankings.

My usual approach involves analyzing the websites that rank above them, identifying key factors that contribute to their high ranking, and determining how we can implement similar elements on the client’s website while staying consistent with their design and messaging. This includes optimizing SEO components like keyword density and heading tag structuring, as well as incorporating elements such as social proof, CTAs, embedded videos, and maps.

While I acknowledge that backlinks play a role in SEO, I am cautious about guest posts and am considering link swaps with similar competitors in different regions as a means of obtaining relevant backlinks.

I would appreciate hearing about your processes for identifying signals and tools you use in your SEO strategies. Any feedback on my current approach would also be welcome. Thank you to those who respond.

To improve a page’s ranking for a specific keyword, you should focus on analyzing the websites already ranking high for that keyword. This involves identifying the key factors contributing to their high ranking, such as keyword density, heading tag structuring, social proof, call-to-actions, embedded videos, and maps. By implementing similar elements on your client’s website, you can improve its ranking.

Remember to stay consistent with the client’s design and messaging while optimizing these elements.

While backlinks are crucial, consider alternative strategies like link swaps with similar competitors in different regions for obtaining relevant backlinks.
