SEO advice needed

Hello everyone,

I am working on improving the SEO for my children’s bedtime stories website, which is currently available in multiple languages (English being the default with one additional language). I am aiming to rank for keywords like “bedtime stories”, “bedtime stories for children”, “fairy tales”, etc.

However, none of my pages are receiving any impressions or keyword queries according to Google Search Console. For example, if a story is about a chicken, the website is getting impressions for the keyword “chicken” rather than relevant keywords like “bedtime stories”.

The site is fairly new, with only 7 stories in 2 languages and is about a month old. I have incorporated keywords in the meta title, meta description, and in a h2 below the story titled “Related Stories”.

I am wondering if this issue will resolve itself with time or if I am unintentionally ranking for unrelated keywords because they are more commonly searched for than “bedtime stories”.

Thank you!

It’s likely that your website is still too new to rank for competitive keywords like “bedtime stories.” While you’ve taken some good steps by incorporating keywords in your meta tags and content, it takes time for search engines to crawl, index, and evaluate your site’s relevance.

Here are a few things to consider:

  • Content Volume: Seven stories in two languages may not be enough to establish a strong foundation for your website. Google prioritizes websites with substantial content, so consider adding more stories regularly.
  • Backlinks: Backlinks from other websites are a crucial signal of authority and credibility to Google. Focus on acquiring natural and relevant backlinks from reputable websites within your niche.
  • On-page optimization: While you’ve already incorporated keywords into meta data, ensure that your content is well-written, engaging, and includes relevant keywords naturally within the text itself.
  • Technical SEO: Make sure your website is technically sound with a fast loading speed, mobile-friendliness, and proper use of structured data.

Keep in mind that ranking for competitive keywords can be challenging, especially for a new website. Patience and consistent effort are key.
