SEMRush vs. HREFs for Small Business Weak on Backlinks

Hello everyone,

We are a small business and website with a large number of pages as we are a listing. Building backlinks has been a challenge for us, but improving our SERP rankings is important. We have utilized SEMRush in the past and found the interface user-friendly. The data provided, such as competitor ranking and keyword position tracking, has been helpful even with the free version, which allows us to track 10 keywords. The remaining keywords we can monitor using GA4 and Google Search Console.

As we focus on improving our backlink profile, we are considering using HREFs to help with this process and potentially provide a plan of action. We are also planning to release a refreshed website and launch some digital press releases.

Thank you.

Both SEMRush and HREFs offer valuable tools for small businesses looking to improve their backlink profiles and SEO performance. SEMRush provides comprehensive SEO analysis, including competitor research, keyword tracking, and backlink analysis. While its free version is limited to 10 keywords, it can be helpful for initial research and tracking key metrics. HREFs, on the other hand, specializes in backlink building and provides a more focused approach to this specific aspect of SEO.

The best tool for your business will depend on your specific needs and budget. If you primarily need help with backlink building and have limited resources, HREFs might be a better option. If you require a broader range of SEO tools and have a larger budget, SEMRush could be a more suitable choice.

Remember that using SEMRush or HREFs alongside your own efforts, such as creating high-quality content and engaging in outreach, will maximize your results. Additionally, integrating your website refresh and digital press releases into your overall SEO strategy will further enhance your backlink profile and boost your website’s visibility in search engine results.
