Hello everyone, I have recently completed an article targeting a low search volume keyword. My article is indexed and currently ranks 1st when using the "allintitle:keyword" search. However, when searching for the keyword alone, my ranking drops to 25th position. Despite the keyword receiving only 50 searches per month, I am concerned about the low ranking. I have ensured that the keyword is included in meta tags, title, h1 tag, and throughout the article in various forms to avoid being spammy. Additionally, I have included internal and external links within the article. I am unsure why my ranking is still low and would appreciate any insights or suggestions.
The low ranking despite optimizing for the keyword could be due to several factors:
- Competition: While the keyword has low search volume, there might be strong competitors ranking higher.
- Content Quality: Even with proper keyword usage, the content itself might not be engaging, informative, or provide the best answer to the user’s search query.
- Backlinks: A lack of high-quality backlinks pointing to your article can significantly impact its ranking.
- Technical SEO issues: Problems with your website’s technical aspects, such as site speed, mobile-friendliness, or broken links, can affect your search engine ranking.
- Domain Authority: Websites with higher domain authority tend to rank better, especially for competitive keywords.
- User Experience: The user experience on your website plays a crucial role in search engine ranking.
To improve your ranking, consider:
- Deepening your research: Analyze the top-ranking websites for your keyword and identify their strengths.
- Improving content quality: Focus on creating high-quality, informative, and engaging content that provides a clear and comprehensive answer to the search query.
- Building backlinks: Reach out to relevant websites and request backlinks to your article.
- Performing a technical SEO audit: Identify and fix any technical issues that might be affecting your website’s performance.
- Optimizing for user experience: Ensure your website is user-friendly, fast-loading, and mobile-responsive.
By addressing these factors, you can increase your chances of ranking higher for the keyword. Remember, SEO is an ongoing process, and it might take time to see significant improvements in your ranking.
