Products not showing up on Google

Hi All, I have a shopify website which I have linked with google, website has been indexed and pages show up on google when i search as site:domain.com but the products are nowhere to be seen on google products area. What am i doing wrong?

On google search console it all looks fine, no manual actions or anything that gives me a warning.
On merchant centre I have linked with shopify to get products and policies from the site rather than manually adding them in and i get message to say to look at the shipping policy, returns policy, reviews but it says that its not something which is affecting the listing yet they don’t show up on google products or product sites.

I have the free theme for shopify at the moment, is this something that needs to be upgraded to the premium theme to get breadcrumbs and reviews sorted out.

Is there anything else that im missing or doing wrong.

Thanks in advance

There are several potential reasons why your products aren’t showing up on Google Shopping, even though your website is indexed:

  • Product data issues: Ensure your product data is accurate and complete. Google requires specific information for each product, including title, description, images, price, availability, and shipping details. Double-check that your product feeds are correctly formatted and that all required fields are filled out.
  • Shipping and returns policies: While Google Merchant Center may not explicitly state that shipping and returns policies affect product listings, they are crucial for customer trust and confidence. Having clear and detailed policies can indirectly improve your product visibility. Consider updating your policies to be more comprehensive and user-friendly.
  • Product visibility settings: Review your Google Merchant Center settings to ensure your products are marked as “visible” for Shopping campaigns.
  • Theme limitations: While the free Shopify theme might not offer advanced features like breadcrumbs and reviews, these factors are not directly linked to product visibility on Google Shopping. Focus on optimizing your product data and ensuring your website is properly set up in Google Merchant Center.
  • Google Shopping campaign setup: If you haven’t already, consider setting up a Google Shopping campaign. This will allow you to target specific keywords and demographics, potentially boosting your product visibility.

Remember, it can take some time for Google to crawl and index your products after making changes. Be patient and monitor your Google Merchant Center for any error messages or warnings. If you continue to experience issues, consult Google’s Merchant Center Help Center or reach out to their support team for assistance.
