Position 1 but 0 search volume for one of our keyword in SEMrush

I am puzzled by the fact that we are ranked first for a keyword in SEMrush, even though there is no search volume associated with it. How does SEMrush determine our position without search volumes?

SEMrush likely determines your position based on factors other than search volume, such as:

  • Backlinks: The number and quality of backlinks pointing to your website can influence your ranking, even if the keyword has low search volume.
  • Domain Authority: This metric represents the overall strength and credibility of your website, which can play a role in ranking, even for low-volume keywords.
  • On-page Optimization: Factors like your website’s title tag, meta description, and content quality can affect your ranking, even with minimal search volume.
  • Historical Data: SEMrush might use historical data to estimate your position, even if the keyword currently has no search volume. This could be based on previous search volume or related keywords with similar search intent.

It’s important to remember that search volume is just one of many factors that influence your website’s ranking in search engines. Even with a low search volume, focusing on other SEO elements can still improve your overall visibility and organic traffic.
