Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Recently, I encountered an issue where my website is not being crawled by Google. Despite multiple requests, only my homepage has been indexed. I purchased this site 3-4 days ago. When I connected Google Search Console, I noticed a high number of DMCA notices (around 41). Do you think this could be the reason why Google is not crawling my posts? The domain was previously owned by someone else, possibly in November 2021.I have submitted new posts multiple times but they are still not being indexed or crawled by Google. I have tested the live URL and it is accessible to Google, but not getting crawled. Can someone please help me or provide insight into how long it might take for my posts to get indexed?
I own 2 other sites which typically get indexed within 1-2 hours. One of them has fast crawling and smooth indexing processes, but I am facing this issue with my current site. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
The high number of DMCA notices associated with your website could be a significant factor in Google’s reluctance to crawl and index your content. DMCA notices indicate potential copyright infringement, which can severely impact a website’s reputation and search engine visibility. Google prioritizes websites that adhere to copyright laws, and a large number of DMCA notices suggests potential issues with your website’s content.
While it’s possible that Google’s indexing process can take time, the presence of multiple DMCA notices might be causing Google to delay or even avoid crawling your website altogether.
Here are some steps you can consider to address the issue:
- Review and address the DMCA notices: Understand the reasons behind these notices and take appropriate action. This may involve removing infringing content, obtaining permissions, or resolving disputes.
- Submit a sitemap to Google Search Console: This helps Google understand the structure of your website and prioritize crawling of your new posts.
- Check for any technical issues: Ensure your website is properly configured, has no broken links, and loads quickly. These factors can affect Google’s ability to crawl and index your content.
- Use structured data markup: This can help Google understand the content on your website better and improve its indexing.
By addressing these issues, you can increase the chances of your website being crawled and indexed by Google. It’s also important to be patient, as Google’s indexing process can take some time. However, if you continue to encounter difficulties after addressing these factors, it’s advisable to consult with a website SEO expert for further assistance.
