My website is currently ranking on #5 position on my domain name how can i improve it from 5 to 1?

Hello everyone,

I have been working on improving the SEO for a website over the past three months and successfully boosted its ranking from position 42 to 5 on the search engine results page (SERP).

Here’s what I did to achieve this:

  • Updated the website content.
  • Addressed crawling and indexing issues in Google Search Console.
  • Fixed content duplication errors using Screaming Frog.
  • Developed user search-focused content and gained quality backlinks through blog posts.

Now that the website is ranked 5th, I am looking to further improve its ranking. The website is examplemedia.co, and I am aiming to rank for the keyword “example media.” However, since my domain TLD is .co, I am facing competition from existing .com and .net domains, as well as similar names like examplemarket, etc.

I have already optimized my website, created social media profiles, and posted content linking back to my homepage to establish brand identity. I have also enhanced my internal linking structure, robots txt, meta tags, and implemented various good practices.

Now, I am seeking suggestions on how to move from 5th to #1. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

To improve your website’s ranking from 5th to 1st, you need to outshine your competitors. Here’s a breakdown of strategies:

Content is King:

  • Go Deeper: Your existing content is likely good, but can you create even more in-depth, comprehensive content on “example media”? Think about the specific questions your target audience has.
  • Freshness Matters: Regularly update your content with new insights, trends, and data. This shows search engines your site is active and relevant.
  • Targeted Keywords: Analyze the top-ranking pages for “example media” and see what keywords they use. Incorporate relevant keywords naturally into your content, meta descriptions, and headings.

Technical Optimization:

  • Page Speed: Optimize your website’s loading speed. Faster websites rank higher in search results. Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights for guidance.
  • Mobile Friendliness: Ensure your website is responsive and looks great on all devices, especially mobile. Google prioritizes mobile-friendly websites.
  • Structured Data: Implement schema markup to help search engines understand the context of your content. This can improve your search result snippets and attract more clicks.

Link Building:

  • High-Quality Backlinks: Acquire backlinks from reputable and relevant websites in your industry. Focus on building natural links through guest blogging, content marketing, and industry collaborations.
  • Link Diversity: Don’t rely solely on homepage links. Build links to specific pages on your site related to “example media.”

Beyond SEO:

  • Social Media: Promote your website’s content on relevant social media platforms. Engage with your audience and build a community.
  • User Experience: Prioritize user experience by ensuring your website is easy to navigate, engaging, and provides value.
  • Brand Building: Continue building brand identity and credibility through consistent content, social media engagement, and other marketing efforts.
