My new sites get rankings and suddenly dropping (happened with 3 sites)

I have some expertise in SEO but I am facing a challenge. I have worked on 2-3 sites, one being a content site and the others being tool sites. The tool sites experienced a strong initial boost in the first 15-20 days after launch, but then suddenly all impressions and clicks dropped to zero, even after updating and improving the content and internal linking. There was no manual penalty detected.

What could be causing this decrease in traffic? Is it possible that the site is in a sandbox or could there be another reason? How can I audit this situation?
