If robots.txt is not an option what can I do to ensure the fast indexing of our product pages?

Hello. I apologize if my question is not clear, but please be patient with me. Our website has experienced a decrease in indexed pages and organic traffic after a redesign. If I am unable to edit the robots.txt file and we have many duplicate pages in Google Search Console due to filtered URLs, but we have rel canonical tags in place, what other suggestions do you have to help speed up the indexing process? Thank you.

There are a few approaches you can take to speed up indexing, even without direct access to the robots.txt file:

  • Submit your sitemap: Ensure you have a valid XML sitemap and submit it to Google Search Console. This acts as a guide for search engines, helping them discover and index your pages efficiently.
  • Utilize internal linking: Carefully craft internal links within your website, connecting relevant pages and guiding search engines through your content. This improves crawl efficiency and encourages indexing.
  • Leverage structured data markup: Implementing schema markup on your product pages helps search engines understand the content and display rich snippets in search results. This can enhance visibility and increase click-through rates.
  • Promote your content: Actively share your product pages on social media, engage with relevant online communities, and build high-quality backlinks from reputable websites. This signals to search engines that your content is valuable and worthy of indexing.
  • Contact your hosting provider: If you suspect technical issues or server configurations are hindering indexing, reach out to your hosting provider. They might be able to assist in identifying and resolving any underlying problems.

While you can’t directly modify robots.txt, these actions can significantly enhance your website’s discoverability and speed up the indexing process.
