GMB listing result is great, but website listing ranking is woeful...how to improve latter?

Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read this and provide any advice.

My Google My Business (GMB) listing ranks at the top of most search results, but my actual website is not appearing on the front page. The website in question is https://atlrockstar.com.

Despite being the #1 GMB listing for popular search terms related to my business (such as atlanta rehearsal studio and atlanta rehearsal space), my website is buried on the 2nd or 3rd page of search results. I have been proactive in updating our GMB page regularly, responding to positive reviews, and adding photos. However, the website has been stagnant for years, leading to its low ranking.

To improve visibility and move towards the front page, I have started updating a blog page every 3rd or 4th day. This blog showcases different customers in the music business, including their bios, upcoming show dates, social media links, and song uploads. Each blog post is shared on GMB, Facebook, and Instagram to drive traffic to the website.

Since I offer band rehearsal rooms, there is limited content to update regularly. Featuring a different customer each week on the blog was the best strategy I could think of. Are there any other ways to make my website more engaging and active? Any suggestions on how to expedite the process of getting back to the top rankings? Thank you for your help!

It’s great that your GMB listing is ranking well, but getting your website to the top of search results will require a more comprehensive approach. While blogging is a good start, you need to focus on improving your website’s overall SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Here are some strategies you can consider:

  • Keyword Research: Identify relevant keywords beyond “atlanta rehearsal studio” and “atlanta rehearsal space.” Use tools like Google Keyword Planner to discover long-tail keywords with less competition, such as “rehearsal studios in Atlanta for rock bands,” or “affordable rehearsal spaces in Atlanta.” Incorporate these keywords naturally into your website’s content, including page titles, headings, and descriptions.
  • Website Content Optimization: Update your website’s content with fresh, relevant, and informative material. Expand beyond simply showcasing customers. Create content that answers common questions about band rehearsal spaces, offers tips for musicians, or features behind-the-scenes glimpses of your studio.
  • Technical SEO: Ensure your website is technically sound for search engines. This includes optimizing website speed, fixing broken links, using mobile-friendly design, and submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console.
  • Backlinking: Building backlinks from other reputable websites is crucial for SEO. Reach out to music blogs, online music magazines, or local community websites and see if they would be interested in featuring your studio. You can also offer guest blogging opportunities to musicians or music professionals.
  • Local SEO: Since you cater to a local market, focus on local SEO strategies. Include your business address, phone number, and hours of operation on your website and ensure they are consistent across all online platforms. Encourage customers to leave reviews on Google My Business, as this boosts your local search ranking.

Remember, SEO is an ongoing process. It takes time and effort to improve your website’s ranking. Consistency, quality content, and a well-structured SEO strategy will help you reach your goals.
