Changing an article

I have a question for you, as a beginner in writing. Imagine you have written an article titled "What we know about the next Mario game" that has been receiving a lot of traffic. However, the article is not complete because there isn't much information available about the game yet.

Suddenly, on the release day of the game, a lot of new information becomes available, making some of the information in your article outdated. In this scenario, would you update the article by significantly changing it to include all the new information and removing the outdated information, or would you write a completely new article and provide a link in the old article directing readers to the new one?

Or do you have another suggestion? Thank you!

It’s generally best to update the existing article with the new information. This ensures that the article continues to be relevant and provides readers with the most up-to-date information. By incorporating the new information and removing outdated content, the article remains valuable to the audience.

While writing a completely new article could be an option, it might not receive the same level of traffic as the original, especially since the original article has already generated significant interest. Additionally, updating the existing article allows for a more streamlined user experience, as readers can access the most comprehensive information in one place.

To avoid redundancy, ensure the updated article focuses on the new information and doesn’t simply repeat content from the original. This can be achieved by structuring the article in a way that highlights the key differences between the previous and current versions of the game.
