Hello everyone. I oversee more than 100 client websites that are hosted on a single server with identical IP addresses. I suspect that Google may view this setup as suspicious, thinking that I am managing the sites for personal gain or engaging in manipulative tactics like creating a PBN (private blog network), even though the client sites do not link to each other.I am aware of the potential drawbacks of this arrangement. From your experience, how might this be negatively impacting the client websites’ rankings on Google?
When assessing backlinks, I typically verify that each site has a unique IP address to avoid similarities with other domains using tools like Ahrefs. However, I am seeking advice specifically regarding the impact on my own managed sites.
Thank you in advance for your insights.
Shared hosting is very common, and it is unlikely to negatively impact your client websites’ rankings on Google. If the websites do not have the same content, it should not be a problem. While it’s important to have unique IP addresses when assessing backlinks, sharing an IP address among client websites on a single server is not inherently suspicious. Google understands that many websites share hosting, and your setup is likely indistinguishable from traditional shared hosting environments.
