Will using an old page in Wordpress lead to faster ranking for new content?

I recently updated an old "test page" on a customer's Wordpress site that had been empty for a couple of years with changes to the URL, meta, etc. Within just a few days, it made its way to the first page of search results and appeared in snippets. The keywords were somewhat competitive, and although I manually prompted Google to crawl the site, I am surprised by how quickly this happened. The only concern I have is that the snippet shows the blog post date as 2022, which is technically accurate but may give the impression that the content is old.

It’s possible that updating an old page with a new URL, meta descriptions, and content could lead to faster ranking for the new content. This is because Google may already have indexed the old page and associated it with certain keywords. When you update the page, Google may see it as a refreshed version of the old page, giving it a boost in search results. However, the age of the content can still impact its ranking. While the updated page may benefit from the previous indexing, the snippet displaying the old date might mislead users into thinking the content is outdated, potentially leading to a decrease in click-through rates and engagement.
