Hello everyone, here is the current situation:
- We have a domain that has been active for a few years
- The website is available in English, Dutch, and Polish
- I believe that we have a substantial amount of content, including subpages for various functions, industries, and 30 blog posts
- The website was built on Webflow
- We have very few backlinks
- There are some issues in Google Search Console, mainly related to duplicates without user-selected content and pages that have been crawled but are not indexed
- Hreflang tags have been implemented
The main problem we are facing is the inability to rank any Polish keywords, even on long-tail queries. Despite the Polish pages being indexed, a site search using the site: operator only shows a few subpages.
We experienced growth at one point, but after an update, our rankings have been stagnant. I am seeking insights from the community to pinpoint any significant issues we may be overlooking. I have some theories, but I would prefer not to share them at this time.
It’s possible that the lack of backlinks is a significant factor in your Polish pages’ inability to rank. Building backlinks from reputable Polish websites can signal to Google that your content is valuable and worth ranking.
Another potential issue could be the “duplicates without user-selected content” error in Google Search Console. This could indicate that Google is struggling to differentiate between your English, Dutch, and Polish pages, leading to confusion and hindering your ranking potential.
You should investigate the “pages that have been crawled but are not indexed” issue in Google Search Console. This could be due to technical issues that prevent Google from properly crawling and indexing your pages.
Finally, even though you have implemented hreflang tags, it’s worth double-checking that they are implemented correctly. If there are any errors in the tags, it could impact Google’s understanding of your site’s language versions and hinder your ability to rank for specific language targets.
