Very mad at Squarespace. Even though I set the meta data author to hidden, somehow Google still got it.Now my full legal name is out there with my blog and shows up when you google my name.
I’ve edited my author name to my website now on Squarespace and requested Google URL update injection or whatever (I.e recrawl my website).
However a day later, the Google search result is still showing my name!
SO. My question is, How long does Google search result take to update?
Thank you everyone! It is a side gig and I don’t want to risk my FTE….(same industry).
It can take Google some time to update its search results, even after you’ve made changes to your website. This delay is due to Google’s indexing process, which involves crawling websites, analyzing content, and updating its database. While there’s no set timeframe for how long it takes for changes to be reflected in search results, it can range from a few hours to several days or even weeks.
It’s important to note that Google prioritizes crawling and indexing websites based on various factors, such as website traffic, content updates, and overall importance. Therefore, the update time can vary depending on the website and the changes made.
To expedite the process, you can request a manual review of your website through Google Search Console. This will prompt Google to re-crawl your website and update its index.
In the meantime, consider creating a Google My Business profile and verifying it. This can help control how your name appears in Google Search results, particularly for local searches.
