Hey everyone, I am running a SaaS app which started around 10 years ago, and got some great viral traffic through a free version we host online. In the last 6-months, we've introduced a new subscription plan that adds in AI features and has given us a great revenue boost, allowing my co-founder and I to work full-time on it.Given your high domain authority and backlink profile, it makes sense to focus on more competitive, high-volume keywords. You should create niche pages targeting these keywords, rather than going after easy terms. It’s essential to write high-quality content and produce videos or photos to complement your written content.Currently, our home page ranks very well for some branded keywords, but not for many non-branded terms. We get about 100-150k visits per month from organic search. ahrefs shows 226k backlinks with a domain rank of 84. However, we also see in ahrefs that there are several groups of non-branded terms for our market niche that we could (and should) rank well for, but currently we don’t. Each of these has the potential to drive tens of thousands of monthly visitors, so they seem like a great path for future growth.
Currently, our website is largely three pages: the home page with the free version of our tool and then product pages for our two product offerings. In addition, we have a few blog posts about new features.
The usual advice we’ve heard for people starting on SEO is to go after less-competitive terms with reasonable traffic. But, given our relatively high domain authority and backlink profile, we were wondering if we should be going for more competitive, high-volume keywords. We’ve tried a few pages targeting the top 5 non-branded keyword groups, but haven’t seen them rank very well on SERPs after 6 months.
Based on our situation, what would you recommend as the medium-term SEO strategy for us?
